Miami-Dade Quality Counts Early Learning Career Pathway - 9 Steps to Success

In an effort to professionalize the Early Learning field, Miami-Dade has developed a Career Pathway for all practitioners working at a Quality Counts center. Our intention is to guide the workforce into the educational expectations of the field. Practitioners can move up the ladder by following either a formal (college credit), informal (Non-credit/CEU) or Hybrid (combination of the two) track.

Reports of Interest

In an effort to understand the nuances of early childhood practitioners participating in the Quality Counts initiative in Miami-Dade, a comprehensive workforce study was conducted. Study findings include demographics, training and education, staff qualification, employment and benefits and turnover. Program sites in the study are those being served by the Quality Counts Career Center which provides access to professional development opportunities including career advising, monetary incentives for obtaining degrees or credentials in early care and education, and an electronic repository of professional development data and resources.
